A great looking, versatile split-toe derby with hand-sewn details makes this style a must-have in any gentleman's wardrobe.
A huge amount of intricate craftsmanship goes into making this split-toe derby as each pair is hand-stitched with traditional boar's bristle needle to form the distinctive look on the apron and toe.
Complete your wardrobe look from the ground up with our curated edit of handgrade shoes. Made for you exclusively to your own specifications.
The fundamental aspect of shoemaking is the last - the "heart and soul" that carries both the aesthetics and fitting qualities of a well constructed shoe. We offer a diverse collection of lasts for you to create beautiful, sculpted shoes leading to the best possible fit, short of bespoke.
We source the finest aniline, semi-aniline, crust and other leathers from renowned tanneries such as Tannerie d' Annonay from France, Ilcea Conceria from Italy, C.F. Stead from UK, and Horween Leather Co. from USA to use on our handgrade shoes.
The end to end shoemaking process takes more than 100 operations to complete, from leather selection and clicking, upper closing, handwelted stitching connecting the upper, welt and insole, beveled waist to final finishing. Many of the steps are performed by hand to better control the finer aspects, save for a few machine assisted operations like outsole stitching* to reduce unnecessary costs while still maintaining the high quality of standards we demand of our handgrade shoes.
All of our custom handgrade shoes are produced on a made to order basis, using the handwelted construction to ensure maximum durability of the key connections of the shoe joints. Special attention is also placed on the choice of ancillary materials like inner lining, toe puffs and heel counter stiffeners to ensure a high grade product that will last for decades with proper care.
* Outsole stitching by hand is also available on request with a workmanship surcharge of S$200.

Theses are fantastic and I love the aggressive curves of this last. The shoes seem dramatic without being overstated. And the espresso color is a great match, highlighting the texture of the hatchgrain while keeping it from popping from more than a few feet away.
Shoe was impeccably made. Site advised the YSQ last to take normal size, when I received it, it was about half a size too big. Put in tongue pads and now they are wearable.
This is my second pair of split-toe derby’s from Yeossal. First was the Cluny, and this pair of Thompson. Both are in Horween Russian hatch grain. I get complements on both pair. The shoes are well made. My local cobbler thought the shoes were exceptionally well made. Even with Covid they arrived quicker than shoes purchased from Europe. The shoe trees are works of art. All emails were replied to promptly.
The shoes will prove over some time of they are indeed as good as my first impression. (My experience is shoes prove their real quality after six months wear, not before.)
What is clear is that communicating with Yeossal is very different from other online shopping platforms. This was outstanding.
